Just like it happened in their last tournament of the past season (Yes, that was Nationals), Ana Brzova and Viki Stoklasova won The Patterson Club Open without dropping a set and demonstrated why they are the best team in the country.
In their first two matches Ana and Viki only lost three games, including a 6-0, 6-0 win over Carter-Stravato and another 6-2, 6-1 win over Cruz-Rodezno Hernandez. In the semis, former two-time national finalists and #4 in the nation Jaffe-Ruddloff pushed the eventual champs to a 7-5 first set. In the second set they cleaned up their mistakes and closed the match with a 6-2 score.
On the other side of the draw Cynthia Dardis and Amy Shay cruised through the semis until they faced Enica-Ondrejkova. Roxy and Martina pulled kind of an upset in the quarters with their win over Flynn-Tarzian (7-6, 6-4). Dardis-Shay used all their experience and prevailed over Enica-Ondejkova by 6-4, 3-6, 6-4.
In the final match (and also the last one of the day) Ana and Viki took home the title of this 3 starts tourney by 6-2, 6-4. They controlled pace of play and were the most consistent of the two teams, two key factors that helped them go home with another win.
The tournament featured 4 out of the Top 5 team in the nation. To check all scores click HERE.
