Sebastian Bredberg and Nathan LeFevre defeated Fritz Odenbach and Michael Stulac to win the 2012 Rochester Open at Shadow Lake. The final match was played under a light but consistent rain. Sebastian and Nathan prevailed by scores of 6-3, 6-3 in their first tournament together.

Although the former Elon University tennis players dropped two sets to get to the final, against Odenbach-Stulac they dominated the match from beginning to end. In the quarters the champs defeated Eric Miller and Fayaz Bhanji by 6-7 (5), 6-2, 6-2 and in the semis the beat the 2011 champs Brett Englesberg and Jeff McMaster 6-3, 6-7 (4), 6-1.

Odenbach and Stulac beat Anton Mavrin and Patricio Misitrano in the semis 7-5, 7-5 after a 2 hours match in the rain. Odenbach’s volleys were impeccable and his drives were clutch.

As seen on the picture, visibility was a factor. The heathers on trying to keep the court dry created a cloud that made it even more difficult to play under those conditions. Stulac and Odenbach, both former champions, ran into a solid team that took advantage of their better fitness and adjusted to the weather better than any other team.
