For second year in a row, Bev Dyminski and Sky Kalkman started the new year celebrating a victory at the New York State Mixed. In the final match they defeated Sandra Odenbach and John Topping by 6-4, 6-2.

Maybe it was the 40+ degrees temperature and cloudy skies or maybe it was the amazing Rochester hospitality but Tournament Director and 2008 Hall of Fame inductee, Fritz Odenbach, was pleased with the increase in signups from last year:

We had 28 teams this year, up from 20 teams from last year”

Both teams squared off in the final after a relatively easy day. They didn’t lose a set in the previous matches. Dyminski and Kalkman went on to win it all again in straight set matches. Can they come back in 2017 and do it all over again? We’ll have to wait 12 months now…
