With the addition of three more teams this season and sixteen in the last two, the Fairfield County Platform Tennis League continues to grow. This announcement, along a few rule changes and new Board members and president, were discussed at the Captain’s Breakfast held this past Saturday morning at the Woodway Country Club, in Darien, Connecticut.

Besides the new teams, what’s new this year?

  • Three teams will move up and three teams will move down at the end of the season.
  • Players will be allowed to play in 15 matches during the 13-week season.
  • Town teams (New Canaan and Darien) will be required to play at least six town residents each match.
  • Steve Larson is the new FCPTL President.
  • Three new Board members joined this season: Scott Hapgood, Tom Dickson, and Paul Harding.
  • A new and improved league logo was revealed.

Captains are expected to submit their frozen players roster by October 11th, a week before the league is scheduled to start play on October 18th. To access league rules and learn more about the FCPTL, simply click HERE.
