COMO_logoThe Stonington Community Center, Inc. (COMO), a 68 year old nonprofit located in Stonington, CT will be constructing two new courts and a warming hut on the campus. Construction is projected to be completed by February 28, 2014.

There is great community interest with a starter list already of 120 men and women who are eager for paddle instruction. Since paddle tennis is a new sport to many of these individuals, there is an enthusiastic group eager to begin instruction in March and carry through until at least Memorial Day. There is also interest for play throughout the summer in order to prepare for fall play.

Start Date: March 1, 2014

Position: Contract, part-time, Year-round PPTA Certified Professional

Job Description: Conduct clinics, private lessons, and group lessons for adults and children. All Clinics and lessons are coordinated through the Stonington COMO. The COMO Platform Tennis Professional will be responsible for working in conjunction with the Stonington COMO Athletic Director to coordinate tournaments, social events, and league play. The role of the COMO Platform Tennis Professional is to build awareness of the new facility and aid the Platform Tennis Program’s growth.

Qualifications:

  • PPTA Certified
  • Clinic, individual, and group lesson experience.
  • Adult and youth instruction experience.
  • Experience at developing and running tournaments, mixed-scrambles, and other various events.
  • Enthusiasm and passion towards the sport of Platform Tennis.
