The 2012 Atlantic Classic Men’s Draw confirmed what has been a growing thought in platform tennis over the last few years, that the balance of power has shifted north to Connecticut.

Both regionally and nationally The Nutmeg State must now be considered the strongest region in the Country.  With three teams in the quarters, two in the semis and the eventual Champions yesterday Connecticut dominated play in Essex Fells.

Last season four residents of the state were ranked in the top six in the Country. This year with the early season dominance of Juan Arraya and Lennart Jonnason two of the top three teams hail from Connecticut. Top young talents such as Max LePivert, Sebastian Bredberg, Jared Palmer, Patricio Misitrano and George Wilkinson compliment the older players like Brad Easterbrook, Mike Gillespie and Mike Cochrane. Can there be any doubt that Region II will be big favorites at this season’s President’s Cup!
