Wallingford’s unbeaten streak has ended in a tie-breaker of 1 game to Martins-2. Wallingford took both courts 1 and 2, while MD2 took courts 3 and 4. Once again, Jerry “Disco Duck” Beirne and Brian “All Smiles” Aguilar proved to be the difference on court 4 as they only dropped 5 games to Captain Derek and Whit Powell. Captain Derek’s maiden voyage to D1 this year was less than smooth but this captain knows how to get his team ready for next week. Derek was quoted, “I let my men down this week but that Jerry guy seems possessed or something. They played well and I am glad that the pressure to keep up an unblemished season is over. I still think we can sweep the rest of the season.” We can only wait and see if Captain Derek can keep this squad together.

Waynesborough sweeps all four courts from Greenville putting them in a tie for first place with Wallingford. After their 1 game loss to Wallingford four weeks ago, WCC has only dropped two courts in the last three weeks against some very respectable teams. WCC has MD-2 next coming off their huge upset win over Wallingford which should be an interesting test of both squads mid season form. While Captain Tom would love to have President’s Cup Star Steve Beers back on the court for the first time this season, he is not pressuring him to get him back on the court knowing that he has Valtko coming off the bench. Next weeks matchup on Court 4 features the two undefeated teams of Hank Oberly and Paul Ridder taking on Brian Aguilar and Jerry “Dancing Queen” Beirne should be an epic battle and will be filmed for rebroadcast on the MAPTA Channel, Verizon channel 789 or Comcast channel 672.

Aronimink took three courts off of Merion to win their fifth consecutive match and put them in sole possession of third place.

MD1 took all four courts from P-Country, who has now dropped their fourth match out of five and the team of Falatek and Frigerio gave the Nowlan’s their second loss of the season. Falatek and Frigerio seem to have found their form from 2 years ago as they appear intent on running out the table and completing a perfect season on court 1.

Overbrook defeated P-Cricket 3 courts to one and gaining essential points to avoid relegation at the end of the season. This win could prove crucial 10 weeks from now.

Vic Mead earns a point over Kennett doubling their point total for this season. Kennett’s 2 points puts them in a tie for sixth place, well ahead of where Vegas had them going into the season.
