Cynthia Dardis and Amy Shay are on a quest to become National Champions and their start to the 2011-2012 season appears to have them on the right track. Yesterday was the turn of the 2011 Women’s Connecticut Classic and Cynthia and Amy did not disappoint. With almost every top East Coast team in the draw, they showed that so far this season they are the best among the best.

The first semis featured Dardis-Shay versus Keri Flynn and Susan Tarzian. The Chicago Charities Champs were all business and won easily in two short sets with scores of 6-2, 6-3. On the top half of the draw National Runner-up Liz Jaffe and Lisa Rudloff faced an unseeded but very dangerous team: Ana Brzova and Viki Stoklasova. Ana and Viki surprised Bobo Delaney and Tonia Mangan in the quarterfinals and will continue improving their current National Ranking.

The final match could be an anticipation of what may happen in March in Long Island. This time Dardis-Shay kept their streak alive and beat Liz and Lisa 6-2, 6-4. Another title for the Region 2 team and counting…
