A first year player and a former professional tennis player, Dias Doskarayev was introduced to paddle by his partner Mark Fischl. Unfortunately for paddle entusiasts, Dias will no longer play paddle (at least for now) due to his new job. He has recently been announced as the Kazakhstan’s Davis Cup Coach and Junior Player Development Director. Part of his job as David Cup Coach will be to coach Kazakhstan in the rubber to be played next March in Spain versus Nadal and his gang.

Dias proved to be a quick learner. Mark and him have won more matches than any other team thus far this year in APTA competition. They won three matches at the Atlantic Classic and won the Consolation Draw. They later won five matches at the Chicago Charities but fell short and lost in final of the Consolation draw. They most recently drove from Long Island to West hartford, Connecticut and finished in 5th place with their win over Paul Fairchild and Alex Seiler 4-6, 6-2, 6-4. They won a total of eleven and were on a roll.
