Just like in every tournament that have played in the last three season (except once), Ana Brzova and Viki Stoklasova end up winning match after match to conquer the inaugural Lake Invitational with a 6-4, 6-2 win over Cynthia Dardis and Amy Shay.
Ana and Viki did it a again and added another title to their career. Questioned after their victory, they really don’t know how many the’ve won. That only happens when you win too many tournaments! The only loss they suffered since the 2012-2013 season (when they began the partnership) came to the hands to Dardis and Shay in December 2013 at the Long Island Invitational 6-3, 2-6, 6-4.
Brzova was the Tournament Director of the 1st Lake Invitational. Additional pressure could have played a roll during play but obviously it wasn’t the case. A 24-teams draw with most of the best players in the country was the perfect opportunity to demonstrate that they are still at the top of the game and that no one can touch them right now.
On the way to the final they beat Lyon-Sikora 6-2, 6-0, Delmonico-Gebbia 6-1, 6-3, and Enica-Ondrejkova (3) 6-2, 6-0. After their defense of the Patterson crown, this is the perfect way to continue the 2014-2015 season.
