Platform Tennis Tournament “Patterson Club Open” on October 10–11, 2015

The Patterson Club, which has one of the country’s largest platform tennis programs, will once again be hosting the Patterson Club Open this fall. New in 2015, the American Platform Tennis Association (APTA) has elevated the Patterson Club Open to Grand Prix Series status making it one of five Grand Prix tournaments in the United States. The Patterson Club Open will be the first of the series this year, attracting top nationally ranked players, with the ultimate goal of winning the Blanchard Cup that goes to the top scoring APTA Grand Prix Series team.
The first major platform tennis event will be held in Fairfield, Connecticut, on October 10th and 11th, and will include a women’s and men’s national ranking tournament. Seven of the top 20 women’s teams and 11 of the top 20 men’s teams are scheduled to play, with registration still open. In the past, many of the winners of the Patterson Club Open have gone on to win the APTA National Championships held at the end of the season.
The tournament kicks off Saturday October 10th at 8:00 AM at multiple locations across Fairfield County. The women’s and men’s finals are both scheduled to be played at the Patterson Club on Sunday, October 11th, with the women starting at 11:00 AM and the men starting at 1:00 PM. Over the years fans of the sport have gathered along Cross Highway to watch the excitement and enjoy the beautiful crisp fall weather. The matches will be available to the entire country via Live Streaming.
