With many people still away from the long weekend, the rosters were not at full strength and there were a number of defaults. As usual, all stats can be found HERE.
Division 1
Greenburgh 1 remains on top of division 1 all by its lonesome, after a 4-1 victory over upstart Bronxville Village 2. Despite missing many of their top players, GB1 managed to win all their matches but the five line, which they lost by default. Manursing Island Club 1 is breathing down GB1’s neck, only 1 point behind, with 11 second half points.
MIC1 swept Bronxville Village 1 5-0, with the 4 and 5 line won by default. This is the second week in a row BV1 has been swept and the third week in a row that they have defaulted at least one match. In this match vs. MIC1, they defaulted 2 matches. What is going on here? Conspiracy theories abound. Could BV1 be taking one for their Bronxville brethren, BV2? Are there permit issues on BV1? As many are aware, the village of Bronxville now has a paddle gestapo patrolling the courts looking for players without permits.
New York Athletic Club 1 is in third place with 10 points, after a 4-1 win over Country Club of Westchester. CCW got their only win at the 5 line. The final match in d1 saw Flint Park 1 score a 3-1 victory over Orienta Beach Club 1 with what appears to be one match still remaining.
Division 2
Siwanoy Country Club 1 continues their torrid pace and remains on top in division 2. They bested Fox Meadow 1 by a score of 3-2, losing the top two lines, then winning the rest. In the battle for second place, Shenorock outlasted Bronxville Viialge 3, 3-2. Elsewhere, Larchmont Yacht Club 1 notched a 3-2 victory over Sleepy Hollow Village.
The final match of d2 saw crosstown rivals Scarsdale Golf Club 1 square off against Scarsdale Village 1. SGC1 came out on top with a convincing 5-0 sweep, which leaves SV1 at the bottom of d2 with only 1 point and in serious danger of a demotion to d3.
Division 3
Wykagyl Country Club 1 has taken sole position of first place in d3 and is on a mission to make their stay in d3 last only two semesters. WCC1 bested New York Athletic Club 2, 4-1 with their only loss coming at the two line. Manursing Island Club 2 and Century Country Club are tied for second place, one point behind WCC1. MIC2 beat Pelham Country Club 1, 4-1, while CCC outlasted Greenburgh 2 by a score of 3-2.
MIC2 is trying to achieve the very rare double jump in one season. This would happen were MIC2 to get promoted in both the fall and winter sessions, thereby jumping two divisions, from 4 to 2 in one year. In the final match in d3, Larchmont Shore Club beat Larchmont Yacht Club 2, 3-2. Both teams are in danger of a demotion to d4.
Division 4
New Rochelle Tennis Club 1 is also trying to get the double jump this year from d5 to d3. NRTC1 beat Bronxville Village 4 by a score of 3-2. Beach Point Club 1 beat White Plains, 3-2 and is hanging around near the top of the division. Ardsley Country Club 1 is also still in the running for a promotion to d3 after a 4-1 win over Pelham Country Club 2. The final match of d4 saw Bronxville Field Club 1 beat Orienta Beach Club 2 by a score of 3-2.
