Just as expected, when two of the most fun to watch players in the country decide to play together, fun is guaranteed. Not only it was fun for the crowd that gathered at the Kansas City Open but it was fun for them too. This past weekend Michael Cochrane and Mark Parsons dominated the field from beginning to end and won the inaugural NRT Kansas City Open.
These two former National Champions did not lose a set the entire tournament and only dropped nine (9) games in five matches. In the final match Mike and Mark defeated Dan Englander – Rob Janecek by 6-0, 6-2. Will we see them playing again soon? Maybe but one thing is for suere, when these two good friends play together or against each other the fans will always win.
Is platform tennis in Kansas City booming? We can’t go quite there yet but there are a few facts that point in that direction:
- Two of the best players in the country just played in Kansas City.
- First time they host a Men’s NRT (and they had a full 32-draw size).
- They have Kevin Kowalik, one of the top Tennis & Paddle Professional in the country.
- They are crazy about paddle!!!
