Week 3 saw good weather and no cancelled matches except anyone who had to play at Greenburgh, who is still without lights.  All Week 3 results can be found at http://www.paddlepro.com/wptl2/.

Division 1

New York Athletic Club 1 is still in first place in d1, but no longer alone.  After a 3-2 loss to Bronxville Village 1, they are now tied with Manursing Island Club 1.  MIC 1 fared better against the other Bronxville team, beating Bronxville Village 3, 4-1.  That leaves BV1 in a third place tie with Country Club of Westchester 1, followed by Greenburgh 1 in fourth, after GB1 swept Orienta Beach Club 1, 5-0.  The last match saw Country Club of Westchester 1 defeat Flint Park 1 by a score of 3-2.

Division 2

Bronxville Village 2 is in first place in d2 with 11 points, but similar to the situation in d1, they now are no longer alone, as Fox Meadow 1 also has 11 points.  BV2 scored a 3-2 victory over Sleepy Hollow Village 1, and the foxes got a 5-0 sweep over Scarsdale Golf Club. Tied for second place are SHV 1 and  Siwanoy Country Club 1. SCC1 got 4 points against Pelham Country Club 1. In the final match of d2, Larchmont Yacht Club 1 beat Scarsdale Village 1 by a score of 3-2.

Division 3

Division 3 also has a tie at first place, with New York Athletic Club 2 and Wykagyl Country Club 1 each registering 11 points.  There is a caveat here, because in second place is Shenorock with a perfect 10 who has only played 2 matches.  NYAC 2 beat Larchmont Shore Club 1 4-1, while WCC 1 swept Pelham Country Club 2 5-0.  Century Country Club beat Larchmont Yacht Club 2 3-2 and both teams are in the middle of the pack.  The final match at Greenburgh, Greenburgh 2 vs. Shenorock, was cancelled due to the lack of lights.

Division 4

Beach Point Club 1 has an almost perfect 14 points after 3 weeks to lead d3 after their second sweep of the year, this time over New York Athletic Club 3. In second place with 12 points is Manursing Island Club 2, who beat Bronxville Field Club 1 by a score of 3-2. Bronxville Village 4 is in third place after a 4-1 defeat at the hands of fourth place Orienta Beach Club 2.  Finally, White Plains beat Ardsley Country Club 1 3-2 to round out the d4 action.

Many league players participated in the Sound Shore tournament this past weekend. The league was also well represented in the winner’s circle.  In the B’s, the winning team of Tom Kratky and Ian Lindsay featured two league players, and in the A’s, Mark Parsons represented the league, while his partner Johan Du Randt was the only one of the four winners not to be a league participant (yet- something tells me if playoffs get close we may see him come in from Boston).
