When Marina Ohlmuller and Mark Johnson play together they are the best mixed team in the country. They won in 2010 and they now repeated again in Chicago. They not only win Nationals tournaments, they also have lost of fun while playing together.
In the semis Marina and Mark defeated Jones-Schmigdall 6-3, 3-6, 6-4. In the last match they faced Heather Prop and Nathan LeFevre. Prop-LeFevre took down Feher-Estes in a close battle in the first semifinal by scores of 3-6, 7-6, 7-6.
After their win versus Prop-LeFevre by 6-3, 5-7, 6-4, Marina talked to PaddleTimes and gave us a her impressions:
Sunday was the most fun match I’ve ever been involved in! Nathan had ninja like hands! Heather had surgical precision on her shots. Mark was a force to be reckoned with and I was just a happy passenger on the Mark Johnson train”!
Will Marina and Mark travel to Delaware in 2013? “Chicago” teams usually don’t travel to play Mixed Nationals on the East Coast. Hopefully, they will make the trip to the First State and more Midwest teams will follow. To check all scores from the tourney click here.
