This past Saturday another tourney made its debut as an NRT (National Ranking Tournament). The Delaware States or, like they also like to call it, south of Washington. While the big guns of paddle were battling at the Sound Shore Invitational in New York, Scott Falatek and Vlatko Najdek came up victorious with their win over defending Champs Huntley Montgomery and Tommy Croker. The Philly team won 6-4, 6-4.

On their way to the final, Falatek-Najdel beat Hocker-Reniger in the semis while Croker-Montgomery took care of business with their win over Marvin-Nowlan. Tournament Director Simon Peppiatt couldn’t be happier after running this new NRT and the support from his tournament committee.

We had fast moving and talented final pitting our regions best teams against each other.

With a full 32-draw size and so many great teams playing, the competition was solid all day. This Region 3 event was also a President’s Cup Qualifier (PCQ) and marked return of a National Tournament to Delaware.

Other finals include:

  • Quarters Reprieve – Easter-Lyon def. Donoho
  • 16s Reprieve – Hume-Jaysingh def. Holtshneider-Holtshneider
  • Consolation Reprieve – Lewis-Peichel def. Croney-Smith
